UTEP freshman forward Vince Hunter and junior guard Julian Washburn were named second team All-Conference USA on Monday, and senior center John Bohannon was a third team selection.

Washburn was a repeat selection to the squad after garnering third team honors a year ago.

It marks the first time that UTEP has had three All-League honorees since joining C-USA for the 2005-06 season. The Miners had a pair of selections in 2006 (John Tofi & Jason Williams), 2009 (Randy Culpepper & Stefon Jackson), 2010 (Derrick Caracter & Culpepper) and 2011 (Culpepper & Julyan Stone).

Washburn is the third Miner to be tabbed to the team twice, joining Culpepper and Stefon Jackson, who were both three-time picks.

Hunter has been named Conference USA Freshman of the Week a league-leading five times this season. He scored 26 points in two games this season (Louisiana Tech and Southern Miss) to tie the UTEP single-game freshman record. Hunter has led UTEP in scoring a team-leading 10 times this season and also tops the squad with five 20-point games. Hunter has scored 389 points, third-most in a season by a freshman in school history, with 206 rebounds (fourth). He is averaging 12.5 points and 6.6 rebounds with a .574 field goal percentage, and was UTEP's leading scorer for C-USA games with 14.5 ppg.

Washburn is averaging 12.7 points and 3.6 rebounds and leads the Miners with 29 steals. He is shooting 42.9 percent from the field, 36.9 percent from three-point range and 76.3 percent from the line. Washburn has scored in double figures a team-leading 21 times this season. He ranks 23rd in school history with 1,134 points.

Bohannon is second in UTEP history in blocked shots (159), third in field goal percentage (.562), fifth in rebounds (799) and 21st in scoring (1,163 points). He has 19 double-doubles, the seventh-most in the Miner record book, including nine this season. Bohannon is first on the squad in rebounding (8.2 rpg) and blocks (1.7 bpg), and fourth in scoring (11.7 ppg) in 2013-14. He is a two-time Conference USA Player of the Week.

Fifth seed UTEP (22-9, 12-4 C-USA) will face either no. 12 seed East Carolina or no. 13 seed UTSA in the Conference USA Championship on Wednesday at 6 p.m. MT in the Don Haskins Center. The tournament starts tomorrow with three games.
