Individual tickets start at $11. Former Miner Greg Foster was promoted to assistant coach at UTEP for the 2011-12 season. Foster was also a member of the staff during the 2010-11 campaign, serving as a student assistant coach while completing work on a bachelor's degree in Multidisciplinary Studies. After transferring from UCLA, he played for the Miners during the 1988-89 and 1989-90 seasons and was selected MVP of the 1990 WAC Tournament before enjoying a 13-year NBA career. Foster averaged 10.8 points and 6.7 rebounds at UTEP, leading the squad to consecutive WAC Tournament titles. He was chosen by Washington in the second round (35th overall pick) of the 1990 NBA Draft. Foster played for nine pro teams - Washington, Atlanta, Milwaukee, Chicago, Minnesota, Utah, Seattle, the Los Angeles Lakers and Toronto. He was a member of the Lakers' 2001 world championship team and also reached the NBA Finals twice with the Jazz. The Oakland, Calif. native attended Skyline High School, where he was a teammate of future NBA star Gary Payton. He played alongside a couple more NBA legends, Antonio Davis and Tim Hardaway, at UTEP. Foster and his wife, Victoria, have a son, Greg Foster Jr. (12) and two daughters, Victoria Marie (19) and Collette Christine (17). |
