Rotich Earns Second C-USA All-Academic Team Honor

 Irving, Texas- UTEP’s Anthony Rotich was named to the 2013 Conference USA All-Academic Cross Country team announced by the league on Thursday .

With a 3.58 GPA, Rotich is pursuing a degree in General Studies. The sophomore most recently claimed his second consecutive crown at the C-USA Cross Country Championships. Rotich clocked in a time of 24:31.57 in the 8K race.

The runner has had five first place finishes out of six competitions this season while also garnering four C-USA Athlete of the Week honors. The UTEP cross country team will return to the course this week at the 2013 NCAA Mountain Regional meet in Ogden, Utah on Friday, Nov. 15th.

A total of 13 student-athletes have been named to the 2013 Conference USA All-Academic Cross Country Teams, as selected by the league's sports information directors for the sport. The all-academic teams consist of student-athletes who have earned a 3.2 cumulative grade point average or better and are a key member on their team.
