Mutai Awarded C-USA Athlete of the Week

Patrick Mutai was named the Conference USA cross country men's athlete of the week after placing first at the Lori Fitzgerald Invitational this past weekend, the league office announced.

Mutai clocked a 7K time of 23:20.01, outkicking three teammates down the stretch. UTEP placed four runners in the top five for a near-perfect score of 16 for a first-place team finish. This is Mutai's fifth career cross country athlete of the week honor.

Following Stephen Samoei, this is the second consecutive week a Miner has been named C-USA cross country athlete of the week.
