Miners Wrap Up the Season at NCAA Championships

Junior Risper Kimaiyo crossed the finish line in 25th place, finishing in the top-25 for the third consecutive year in the 2011 Cross Country Championships in Terre Haute, Ind., on Monday.

2010 (Sophomore):Garnered back-to-back USTFCCCA All-American accolades running to a fourth-place finish at the 2010 NCAA Championships with a time of 20:16 ... made UTEP history becoming the first female to win a regional title crossing the finish line first at 20:02 at the NCAA Mountain Regional ... named Mountain Region Athlete of the Year and Conference USA Athlete of the Year after claiming the league crown for the second consecutive year clocking in a personal best andnew championship record time of 16:27 ... won six of eight races competed in earning C-USA Athlete of the Week three times for her performances at the Lobo Invitational, Kachina Classic and the Prenational meet ... eclipsed own meet record at Lobo Invitational with a time of 17:00 ... also crossed the finish line first at the UTEP Lori Fitzgerald Invitational with a time of 16:22 ... tabbed a C-USA Scholar Athlete, USTFCCCA All-Academic and a Honda Sports Award nominee.
