UTEP Track Inks Megan Chojnacki
UTEP head track and field coach Bob Kitchens announced Megan Chojnacki of Waukesha, Wis., has signed a national letter of intent to compete for the Miners.
“I feel Megan is a untapped talent,” said Kitchens. “She is a good prospect for us. She is a solid runner and a very good student in the class room. I am excited about having her on our team.”
Chojnacki was recently a state qualifier in cross country for the Wisconsin State Championships. She gained first team All-Classic Eight Conference honors in cross country after taking eighth at the conference meet this year.
Last spring, Chojnacki led Waukesha South to a eighth-place finish in the 3,200-meter relay and a 19th-place showing in the 1,600-meter relay at the state championships. She was also a sectional qualifier in the 400-meter dash as a junior.
A member of the National Honor Society, she holds personal bests of 5:14 in the mile, 2:21 in the 800-meter run and a split of 58.7 as part of the 1,600 relay.
