NCAA Championship Results

2:57 p.m. MST: Alex van der Merwe became the Miners' third All-American of the meet on Friday afternoon when he threw 70.60m (231-7) to take fifth place in the javelin. It is an improvement for van der Merwe, who was 12th in the event at NCAA's each of the last two years. The UTEP men are tied for 13th place with five points through four events scored.

5:46 p.m. MST: Hans Eriksson fouled all three of his throws and did not place in the hammer.

6:07 p.m. MST: The women's 4x100 relay of Quashanda Welch, Halimat Ismaila, Shalaiyah Sommerville and Blessing Okagbare took sixth with a time of 43.95 seconds, which is a new school record.

CBS College Sports Network (formerly CSTV) is airing live coverage of the NCAA Championships on Friday, June 13th from 6-9 p.m. MST. CBS will also broadcast live coverage of the final day of competition from 2-4 p.m. MST.

6:52 p.m. MST: Patrick Mutai takes seventh in the men's 3,000 meter steeplechase with a season-best time of 8:38.48 to earn All-America honors.

7:58 p.m. MST: UTEP'S Mickael Hanany IS THE 2008 NATIONAL CHAMPION IN THE HIGH JUMP WITH A BEST OF 2.32M (7-7 1/4)
