EL PASO – Anthony Wright earns Conference USA Track and Field Outdoor Male Athlete of the Week honors the league announced Tuesday.

The junior clocked in a time of 10.29 in the men’s 100-meters taking second-place at the UTEP Invitational. Wright now ranks first in conference in the event.

Wright was also a member of the 4x100m relay team that took first place and defeated the top-ranked Kansas State at the invitational, posting a season-best of 40.21. The squad tops the C-USA performance list and ranks 45th in the nation for their performance.

This is Wright’s first career C-USA Outdoor Athlete of the Week honor.

The UTEP track and field team will be competing at the Mt. SAC Relays on Friday, April 27.
