Rotich and Jackson Garner C-USA Performers of the Meet Honors

The athletes were chosen in voting done by C-USA track and field coaches earlier this week, based on their performances at the C-USA Indoor Championship.
Rotich won the mile, 3,000 meters and 5,000 meters for the second year in a row to share the C-USA High Point Scorer Award with teammate Mark Jackson. Rotich kicked off his triple crown with a win in the 5,000m on Friday clocking in a time of 14:32.46. He went on to claim gold in the mile (4:06.07) and 3,000m (8:17.79) to complete his distance sweep.
Rotich will be competing at the NCAA Indoor Championship for the second time in his career. This will mark the first time he will run the mile at nationals.
Jackson also earned a triple crown at the C-USA Championship taking the long jump, triple jump and 60 meters. The senior opened the meet with a winning effort of 7.59m (24-11.00) in the long jump. The jumper followed it up with gold medal finishes in the triple jump 16.09m (52-09.50) and in the 60 meter dash with a personal-best time of 6.70 registered on Saturday.
Jackson will make his first appearance at the NCAA Indoor Championship competing in the triple jump.
Both Miners will travel to Albuquerque, N.M. to compete in the NCAA Indoor Championships on March14-15.
