Des Moines, Iowa - Freshman Anthony Rotich qualifies for the men's 3,000m steeplechase final at the 2012 NCAA Track and Field Outdoor Championships at Drake Stadium.

Rotich clocked in a personal-best of 8:41.14 and finished third in the first heat of the men's steeplechase. The Kenyan native automatically qualified for the final and placed eighth overall at the meet.

Janice Jackson crossed the finish line fifth in the second heat of the women's 100m hurdles. The sophomore posted a time of 13.35, but it wasn't enough to earn her a spot in the 100m hurdles finals.

Rotich will be competing on Saturday at 11:52 a.m. (CT) in the men's 3,000m steeplechase finals in Des Moines, Iowa.
