El Paso Native Rates Third at C-USA Championships

Houston, Texas – El Paso native Jallycia Pearson concluded day one of the women’s heptathlon in third place at the Conference USA Championships.

The sophomore ended the first day of the meet finishing in the top three in three of the four events. She kicked off the meet with the 100m hurdles, where she posted a third-place finish with a time of 14.41.

Pearson then registered a toss of 11.59m (38-00.25) in her first attempt in the shot put. The multievent competitor wrapped up the long day of competition in the 200m dash, where she stormed out with a time of 25.27 in the second heat. 

Pearson currently has a combined score of 3118 with the long jump, javelin throw and 800m still to participate in tomorrow starting at 11 a.m. (MT).
