Texas Relays Results

Austin, Texas – The men’s 4x400m relay finishes fourth in a photo finish at the 85th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays on Saturday.

Anthony Wright, Abiola Onakoya, Shane Hamm and A-Shawni Mitchell crossed the finish line with the nations 13th-fastest time of 3:09.14. The squad ranks 10th in the nation for their performance at the UTEP Springtime. 

“The relay team had a solid performance today,” said assistant coach Leon Settle. “The team has shown that they can be consistent and we hope to continue improving throughout the season.” 

All-American Endurance Abinuwa clocks in the nations seventh-fastest time in the nation with a time of 11.41 in the women’s 100m. The senior posted a season-best and finished eighth overall. 

“Endurance got out of the blocks much better today than she did yesterday,” said assistant coach Scott Roberts. “Our focus now is to continue training and get stronger for the UTEP Invitational.”

Senior Justice Chirchir clocked in a time of 4:08.05 in the Jerry Thompson Mile. The Kenyan native finished eighth amongst the nations top athletes and was the third collegiate runner to cross the finish line.

The Miners will travel to Albuquerque, N.M. on Saturday, April 14 to compete in the Don Kirby Invitational.
