Maricarmen Vizcaino enters her second season as a graduate assistant for the UTEP track and field program. She assists primarily with sprinters, working hand-in-hand with head coach Bob Kitchens.
Vizcaino graduated from UTEP with a degree in kinesiology and a minor in health sciences in December of 2005. She competed for the UTEP track and field team during the 2004 season, running the 400 and 800.
She was also a member of the National Honor Society and Honor's House while an undergraduate at UTEP.
Prior to coming to UTEP, Vizcaino was the Mexican Junior National Champion in fi gure skating in 1998.
Vizcaino graduated from Colegio Latino Americano in Juarez, Mexico, in 2001 with a grade point average of 9.8 (10-point scale).
Vizcaino is currently pursuing her master's degree in kinesiolgy.
