David Adamson joined UTEP in the summer of 2007 as an assistant strength and conditioning coach for UTEP, and has been working in strength and conditioning since 2002. At UTEP, he is directly responsible for program design and implementation for track & field and volleyball, as well as assisting with football. Adamson is also the internship coordinator and works to take the UTEP interns education beyond the classroom.
Prior to coming to the Sun City, Adamson worked at Virginia Commonwealth University for two years. Adamson has also worked in the strength & conditioning programs of Winona State University, Arizona State University, and the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse.
Adamson received his masters in Sport Leadership at VCU in 2006, and graduated from the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse with a degree in exercise science in 2003. Adamson's education also extends to his experience under the bar, as he is a competitive powerlifter. He has competed in three different weight classes and has obtained a 1510 total in the 198 lb weight class, a 1560 in the 220 lb weight class, and also a 610 lb deadlift in the 220 lb weight class.
Adamson is married to Erin, and they have one daughter, Sedona Brooke.
