Earned all-tournament honors while helping lead the UTEP soccer team's run to the finals of the 2011 Conference USA Championship. She anchored the defense by registering 23 saves on 27 shots faced, including a career-high 10 stops in the 2-1 double OT setback to No. 4/6 & undefeated Memphis on Nov. 6. The freshman was huge in the semifinals against Rice, recording five saves through a scoreless 110 minutes of action. She then denied the Owls on three of their four penalty kick attempts. In the tournament opener she was credited with eight saves in the 2-1 dispatching of rival and second-seeded Colorado College.
He won the 2011 Conference USA Cross Country Men's Individual title behind a career-best time of 23:39. The junior keyed the charge for the Miners, who garnered runner-up honors at the effort with 48 points. Chirchir edged out teammate and 2010 champion, Elkana Rotich,who churned out a time of 23:51, to secure second place at the event.
