EL PASO, Texas - UTEP Athletics and the Miner Athletic Club will host a sold out Hoops Tipoff Luncheon on Wednesday Oct. 23, at the El Paso Convention Center.

This is the first luncheon hosted by UTEP Athletics for basketball in many years. The event will feature almost 700 attendees who will enjoy a plated meal and will have the unique opportunity to get an in-depth preview from head coaches Tim Floyd and Keitha Adams about the upcoming men's and women's basketball seasons.

Fans who secured seats to the event are reminded that the program will start promptly at noon on Wednesday. The Miner Athletic Club recommends arriving between 11:30 and 11:45 a.m.

"We are extremely thankful for the tremendous support our fans and donors have shown for the Tipoff Luncheon," said Senior Associate Athletic Director for External Affairs Chris Park. "The energy surrounding this event is a testament to the excitement for our Men's & Women's basketball programs as they head into a new year."

The Miner Athletic Club (MAC) serves as the fund-raising arm of the UTEP Department of Athletics. The MAC's mission is to annually raise funds to offset the departmental cost of scholarships and sport programs supporting UTEP student-athletes. Funds are raised by the Miner Athletic Club through annual membership, major and planned gifts, the donor portions of season ticket sales and special events.
