Tori Martyn, Soccer
Tori Martyn scored three times while also adding an assist to help lead UTEP to a pair of important victories at home over the weekend (3-2 vs. UAB, 10/5/12 & 4-1 vs. Memphis 10/7/12.) Prior to the weekend, Martyn hadn't scored this season but that all changed against starting against UAB. Just three minutes into the contest, Martyn afforded UTEP a 1-0 lead by scoring off a header. She used a perfectly-timed run to put herself into prime position, elevated above the defense and hammered home the header. Martyn then added an assist after getting involved in a scramble in the box in the eventual match winner. She made her presence felt in a big way against Memphis, scoring twice on headers. After a scoreless first half, Martyn tallied twice off headers in the box from feeds on corner kicks by Tess Hall.

Drew Thomas, Football
- Drew Thomas logged the first double-digit tackle game of his career with 12 stops versus SMU on Oct. 6. His previous career-high was eight stops at Wisconsin on Sept. 22. Thomas was all over the field against the Mustangs, with six solo stops and six assisted tackles. He also did his job in pass coverage, posting a pair of pass break ups.
