Aaron Jones Football
True freshman RB Aaron Jones was unstoppable in his debut in the Orange and Blue finishing with 127 yards rushing (11.5 avg.), the most by a UTEP freshman since 1996. The RB ran the ball 11 times and scored two touchdowns for the Miners. Jones had a 65-yard scoring run in the third quarter, the longest by a UTEP freshman since 2001. After only one week the freshman already ranks in three categories in conference: rushing (3rd-127.0 avg.), scoring (2nd-12.0) and scoring TDs (2nd-12.0).
Xitlali Herrera Volleyball
Xitlali Herrera has proven to be a force to be reckoned with on the court, as she led UTEP's attack recording her first 20 or more kill performance against Oral Roberts. The senior hammered a match-high 24 kills with only four errors and registered a .385 hitting percentage against the Golden Eagles. The middle blocker has compiled 78 kills this season, averaging 4.24 kills per set, and is ranked second in Conference USA. Herrera's stand out performance has also ranked in third in points and eighth in hitting percentage in Conference USA. UTEP is now 2-4
