Melissa Toth earned all-tournament honors at the Hilton RTP/NCCU Volleyball Tournament as the Miners opened the 2010 volleyball season with a 4-1 record.
The redshirt freshman averaged 4.43 kills per set and hit a .242 (62K-23E-161TA) clip, while posting double-digit kill performances in four matches, including a double-double in her debut performance in the Orange and Blue. She registered 38 digs – second on the team – to average 2.71 digs per set for the weekend. She also served up seven aces, dished out seven assists and put up four blocks over the weekend.
In UTEP’s lidlifter against Delaware State, Toth recorded 17 kills and a hitting clip of .469. She contributed 10 digs in UTEP’s 3-0 victory for the double-double. She followed with a 15-kill tally against Elon and secured her second double-double of the weekend against Gardner-Webb, posting 14 kills and 14 digs for the Miners. She topped out the weekend with 16 kills versus Charleston Southern.
