Anthony Rotich & Nickevea Wilson are the Miners of the Week

Anthony Rotich Men's Track & Field
Anthony Rotich anchored the men's distance medley relay team that successfully defended its title at the renowned Drake Relays on April 26. The two-time national champion stormed the track to the finish line to help the Miners claim the crown for a second consecutive year. Cosmas Boit, a freshman, kept a consistent stride to keep the Miners in second place on the first leg. He handed the baton off to Abiola Onakoya who sprinted out in front to give UTEP the lead. El Paso native Daniel Tarango was the third leg of the relay and made his move to Rotich in good position for the final leg.

Nickevea Wilson, Women's Track & Field
On the field the UTEP women were led by Nickevea Wilson in the women's triple jump. The All-American placed third out of 30 jumpers as she registered a jump of 12.93m (42-05.25). The junior ranks ninth nationally and second in C-USA. It was an impressive showing at the Drake Relays on April 26.
