EL PASO, TEXAS – A school-record 26 UTEP student-athletes have been bestowed with Conference USA Academic Medals for their outstanding efforts in the classroom during the 2009-10 academic year, as announced by the league office on Friday. The medals are presented to student-athletes who have achieved cumulative GPAs of 3.75 or better.

UTEP's recipients are as follows by sport:

Men’s Basketball (1):  Isaac Gordon

Women’s Basketball (2): Deanna Key and Marta Micula

Football (4): Ryan Lasky, Cameron Raschke, Mike Scott and Yahchaaroah Stuart

Men’s Golf (2): Jerry Castrellon and H.J. Roberts

Women’s Golf (1): Deborah Martinez

Rifle (1): Alix Moncada

Soccer (3): Melissa Desilets, Tess Hall and Skye Schultz

Softball (6): Ashley Collazo, Kelynn Frye, Kayla Oranger, Stacie Townsend, Jessica Villanueva and Kayleigh Watts

Tennis (1): Veronika Makashov
