Camilla Carrera Softball Camilla Carrera became the Conference USA single-season home run leader in her first at-bat of a three-game series against East Carolina. The nation's home-run leader crushed her 20th home run of the season, breaking Laurie Wagners' previous record of 19 set in 2008 with Houston. Carrera batted a team-high .714, had an on-base percentage of .818 and slugged 1.571. The senior crossed the plate a total of six times over the weekend while driivng in four runs. Carrera did not strike out in seven at bats and was intentionally walked four times in the series. Carrera registered five putouts and one assist while committing no errors in the field. In game of of the series Carrera hit two home runs and drove in four Miners. In the nightcap she was intentionally walked four times but scored three runs.
