Anthony Rotich, Men's Track & Field
Anthony Rotich proved to victorious once again in Albuquerque, N.M. running away with two first place finishes at the New Mexico Classic. The sophomore not only clocked in a personal-best of 4:03.06 in the mile, but also broke the meet record that was set in 2011. Rotich time converts to 3:57.76 and earned him the No. 2 spot in the TFRRS national rankings and the No.2 spot in the UTEP recordbooks. The distance runner went on to cross the finish line first in the 3,000m posting a time of 8:14.90 winning the event by 11 seconds.
Nickevea Wilson, Women's Track & Field
Nickevea Wilson registered a personal-best of 12.52m (41-01.00) in the triple jump at the New Mexico Classic. The junior's mark earned her, the TFRRS 23rd best jump in the nation in the event and the sixth top mark in program history. The jumper also competed in the long jump and finished sixth with a mark of 5.61m (18-05.00) recorded in her second attempt.
