Kayla Thornton averaged 14 points & 7 rebounds in 25.0 mpg while helping lead UTEP to its first win in Greenville & its largest margin of victory in a league game in program history against Houston. Against the Cougars Thornton poured in a team-high 18 points, her second-best seasonal effort, while also grabbing eight rebounds to lead the rout. She made 8-of-12 from the floor and used great energy to grab five offensive boards. In the contest against ECU, Thornton pitched in 10 points & six boards (3 off/3 def).

John Bohannon Men's Basketball
John Bohannon delivered back-to-back strong performances in helping the Miners forge a 1-1 mark on the week. He opened things up by notching a double-double (17 points, 14 boards) while also registering three assists in the win against ECU. Bohannon connected on 7-of-9 shots, made 3-of-5 at the free-throw line while also blocking a shot in 34 minutes of action. He followed that up by nearly recording his second double-double on the week in the setback at Tulane. He was second on the team in scoring for the game (13 points) on 6-of-9 shooting while also pulling down a squad-best eight boards.
