Gloria Brown helped lead UTEP to a perfect 2-0 start to Conference USA play by averaging 12.5 points, 11 rebounds, 5.0 blocks and 2.5 steals in 23.5 minutes. She opened up the week by notching her third straight double-double (17 points, 11 rebounds) while also blocking four shots and making four steals in 20 minutes of action in the 64-53 win at SMU on Jan. 5. Brown hit 7-of-11 from the floor and sank all three of her free throws. The Philadelphia, Pa., native followed that up with a dominant defense performance in the school-record-tying biggest comeback 66-60 win against Memphis, in which the Miners rallied from 19 points down at the half. Brown grabbed 11 boards while blocking six shots. She also chipped in eight points at the offensive end, which was aided by a perfect 4-of-4 showing at the charity stripe.
