University Field
The home of UTEP soccer since its inception in 1996, University Field has been the site of many historic events during the program's history. The Miners have forged a record of 112-33-9 at the venue while packing in the fans.
More than 115 players have proudly taken to the field in its 15-year history. The record in the Sun City stands at 86-14-5 since 2002, which was aided by a mark of 8-2-2 in 2011. In 1999, the addition of lights to the field made it possible for the Miners to play night games. On Thursday, Sept. 23, of that year, UTEP defeated Arizona, 4-3, in the first night game of the facility. In spring 2006, the facility received a $100,000 overhaul with a state-of-the-art drainage system, new sod, improved electrical wiring and refurbished light standards. During Kevin Cross' tenure, fans have flocked to the field to support the Miners. UTEP has led C-USA in attendance in four years, and played in front of a school-record 1,705 fans in a 2-0 triumph against New Mexico State on Aug. 10, 2011. The natural-grass playing surface measures 120'x75' with player warm-up areas behind both benches. Facility Quick Facts
